Another night at the boat

Last night I decided to get out of the house and spend the night on the boat. I talked my friend Jason into coming along and eventually got another friend, James, to head up for the evening.

It was very cold last night, with high wind warnings, snow advisory and it was raining. This made transporting our gear from the car to the boat a bit cold and wet. Once we got everything aboard we cranked up the heater, closed up the boat and headed to Anthony’s Home Port in the Marina Village.

We ordered drinks, calamari, clam chowder, and mussels. James got some burnt cream also. After that we headed back to the boat, got settled, kicked up the radio, continued with the cocktails and beers and snacked on chips and jerky. James headed home later that night and I crashed hard. Jason ended up on the phone with some girl for a few hours at like 3am. Somehow he also polished off 11 beers.

In the morning I woke up and wandered about the dock. Met a couple other boat owners. During the big wind storm last month the headsail on one of the boats right next to ours came loose and was torn badly in the wind. Ever since then it has been flapping in the wind and creating ALOT of noise. This morning the boats owner was there with another boater. I talked to them briefly while they took down the torn sail. I also talked to a guy a few boats down that lives aboard his boat. I’ll post about him next.

About noon, Jason and I packed up, locked down the boat, got coffee at the Marina Village and headed home. It was a good stay overall.
