Tales from the Marina

So the live aboard guy I mentioned previously was sort of pissed off this morning and making sure that everyone knew why…

Apparently last night someone broke into his boat. He actually came home and found the guy passed out on his couch in his boat last night. It seems the guy was really drunk, broke into the boat, ate his tri-tip steak, took a shower and passed out. So he woke him up and chased him out hoping he would leave. After a few minutes he hadn’t heard the dock gate so assuming the guy was still somewhere on D-dock he started walking around and found the guy on yet another boat. He got the flashlight on him and threatened to throw him in the water. But since they guy wasn’t being physical or anything he just called security who came down and took the dude away. He’s been arrested and charged with breaking/entering and burglary. He made off with some mexican coins and dish towels somehow.

I was sorta curious how the guy got onto the dock at all since the gates use electronic keys sort of like the badge readers in many office buildings. Turns out the next boat over is owned by a Vietnam Vet who is stuck in the hospital dying from agent orange and he’s also some 13th level mason or something and likes to help people. So this burglar is down and out, and the war vet tells him that if he needs a place to stay he can stay on his boat. But he never made it on that boat, he just broke into two others. Really strange.
