Update from the sea 7, Rocking me to sleep..
I’m lying in the berth reading a book with the boat rocking from the periodic passage of ferries..
Today we slept in a bit, got coffee, stopped by the grocery store in Roche Harbor, then headed out of the harbor.
Today’s run was uneventful except for some fog and rain. We had soup, coffee, and tea on the way. When we got to James Island we tied up to the 2nd of 3 mooring buoys, then took the dinghy ashore. The were a couple of trails around the small island and some great views. In all about 5 boats are here at this island.
After exploring the land for a bit we came back to the boat and started dinner. Steve and I played cribbage for a while then we all played Yachtzee together. I’m so tired that my eyes keep wanting to close while I type this.
Tomorrow we head through Deception Pass just before 10am and make our way to Coupeville for the night. Sounds like Dawn and Steve will be trading places with George (Devon’s dad) and Nessa (our dog) for the last night on the boat and then run to Everett.
Updates to come from Coupeville tomorrow…
