Update from the sea 4, That’s a dinghy?
We are in our second night at Ganges now. This little island village is pretty cool. They have a rare used book store with some 1600s atlas books but i’d have to sell a house to buy them.
Last night was probably the calmest water of any marina I’ve been to so far. The boat seemed more like land than a boat. Tonight we had mac and cheese with chicken for dinner. There are some really large boats out here, we talked to a guy who lost his dinghy in the Straight of Georgia. His dinghy is a 23 foot speed boat, and he’s piloting a 65 foot trawler, but apparently he had to turn around and chase down the dinghy. He got the tow rope wrapped in one prop and limped to Ganges on one engine. Tough life for wealthy people….
We put up a tarp tent over the cockpit due to rain and played Yahtzee tonight. Tomorrow we are heading for Telegraph Harbor on Thetis Island, BC. The weather tomorrow looks rainy and windy so maybe we’ll get some wet but fast sailing in.
Update from deep in the Gulf Islands tomorrow.
