A Sail of unrealistic expectations…
Tomorrow, we are going out sailing (most likely in windy/rainy weather, which could make things pretty awesome) on a test sail of a new boat. Since we still have some time, and we are still overly optimistic about all the things we will be able to do/afford when this trip happens, we still have somewhat unrealistic expectations about what boat we will be able to afford.
So to that end, we are test sailing a 2014 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 469. I’ve been aboard a couple times and I really like the open, bright, light interior and layout.
In a sort of strange cosmic alignment, I received an email from Sail Magazine yesterday with a Boat Test review of the same model.

Looking forward to tomorrow… Windfinder says to expect 10-15kt winds and gusts in the high 20s.
So, how did our test sail go? 😉
